Strategic Priorities

 Strategy:  Workforce Issues and Initiatives 

  1. Support and collaborate with South Dakota Center for Nursing Workforce
  2. Provide a spokesperson for the South Dakota Legislature for issues pertinent to nursing and healthcare, educate the membership on issues

 Strategy:  SDONE Membership 

  1. Promote the SDONE newsletter circulation, solicit articles of interest from the membership
  2. Publicize the SDONE and AONE website and available resources
  3. Each district will develop a goal for membership increase and a plan on how to achieve that goal.

Strategy:  Patient Care Delivery/Patient Safety and the Workforce Environment 

  1. Collaborate with other Nursing and Healthcare organization to provide educational programs for nurses providing direct patient care, (focus on patient safety issues)
  2. Recognize and support healthy work environments through program, newsletter and/or website communications
  3. SDONE  will have participation in SD Alliance for Patient Safety

Strategy:  Nursing Leadership Education and Collaboration Opportunities 

  1. Support SDONE Regional Meeting schedules, provide ideas and speakers upon request
  2. Support SDONE/SDAHO annual meeting
  3. Provide leadership and support for AONE activities
